In Stockton, refugees are recounting stories of life in the killing fields of Cambodia, survival in the jungles and refugee camps, and as they work on making new lives in America.

Stockton is home to the second largest Cambodian community in California and the fifth largest in the nation.

Stockton Cambodian Oral History Project receives grant award from Cal Humanities

The Stockton Cambodian Oral History Project was awarded a $10,000 grant from Cal Humanities to help with the Project’s ongoing mission of chronicling the stories of Cambodian refugees and the richness of their invaluable contributions to the Stockton community.

The Project was established last year to educate the community on the richly diverse and unique roles Cambodians have played in Stockton’s recent history,
